Banksia Victoriae Leaf Headpiece

The shape is taken from the leaf of the Banksia variety 'Victoriae’, also known as Wooly Orange Banksia. It occurs in the Mooniema region of Western Australia, which is Nyoongar for Northampton/Kalbarri.

The leaf is cut from metal, textured and sculpted entirely by hand, with each little line of the leaf venation pattern being individually punched into the metal. The venation pattern varies between the different types of banksia leaves.

 

18k yellow gold plated brass with stainless steel clasp and Sterling silver rivet. Satin finish. All findings made by hand.
