Fragile Rose Bar Brooch

A rose constructed from mixed materials on a bar brooch.

 

This brooch is from a collection of conceptual works inspired by an antique bar brooch with a large central Citrine stone that I inherited from my paternal grandmother when she passed away. This style of brooch dates back to the Victorian era and is a common heirloom. I am always captivated by heirlooms and keepsakes and the connection felt when wearing jewellery that carries such significance.

  

The pin is oxidised to emphasise the piercing element.
